Champagne Wrapture at James Hotel

Enjoy champagne and Belvedere Vodka cocktails and tasty treats while viewing and bidding on incredible, unique works of champagne bottle artistry. Local Chicago celebrities, designers, architects, and artists to use their creative talents to dress and embellish a holiday tradition – a bottle of bubbly – which are then auctioned to benefit Chicago House.

Graduation

Students will graduate from the L'Art de la Patisserie program from The French Pastry School on Friday, December 21st. They take what they have learned during the 24weeks and apply it to the industry using their talents.  Student will begin their pastry careers in some of the most respected hotels, restaurants and bakeries in the country. more

Chef Sebastien Thieffine will demonstrate how to prepare a variety of chocolate favorites just in time for the holidays at the Lincoln Park Whole Foods.  Learn to make a warm chocolate cake, spice cake and a chocolate truffle.

Inspiration Corporation Anniversary Dinner

Inspiration Corporation’s eagerly awaited 19th anniversary dinner will be held on the evening of Saturday, November 17 at Inspiration Cafe in Uptown.  Chef Dominique Tougne's, Bistro 110, delicious cuisine will be paired with fine wines to create an unmatched combination of flavors and presentations. The evening is being generously underwritten by LaSalle Bank, Mickey’s Linen & Towel Supply, and The French Pastry School at City Colleges of Chicago.

George Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau Let Them Eat Cake Contest

Alumni Jove Hubbard from the James Hotel along with Gabe Geers, also a graduate of L'Art de la Pâtisserie Program received the highest honor in winning the George Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau cake contest.  The contest was held at the Symphony Center in downtown Chicago.  Pastry chefs were judged on how best they conceptualized the theme of Art is Wine.

Celebrity Chef Big Night

The French Pastry School is joining with the Chicago Animal Care and Control for a spectacular event at Cafe Brauer in Lincoln Park.  Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) is charged with the responsibility of rescuing tens of thousands of lost and homeless animals and animals suffering from cruelty, neglect and indifference. In addition, we are the only shelter in Chicago that has an "open door" policy--- meaning that we accept any animal at any time for any reason, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

Fundraiser for fellow Chef

The French Pastry School chefs along with many others joined together for a good cause, to raise funds for the deceased Chef Fernard Gutierrez's family.  The luncheon was held at La Sardine with 80 people in attendance.  Chef Gutierrez directed several restaurants and hotels including the Ritz Carlton in Chicago.  PHOTOS from the luncheon.

Top 10 Pastry Chefs

The French Pastry School hosted an event honoring the Top 10 Pastry Chef in the United States named by Pastry Art & DesignThis is the first year the event has been held in Chicago, and The French Pastry School is honored to host the ceremony – especially because it’s home to three past Pastry Art & Design Ten Best Pastry Chef honorees, including school founders and instructors Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer and Chef Sebastien Canonne, M.O.F. and Chef Instructor John Kraus.  Each has been honored twice for their talent and dedication to the culinary arts.
