Chef Rieko Wada, owner of Sweet Endeavours at 1101 Tower Road in Schaumburg, will be honored on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 by Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas.

In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Wada is receiving the Entrepreneur Award, due to a successful showing of her artisan chocolates at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards and the 82nd Academy Awards earlier this year. She was also awarded by Mayor Al Larsen and Schaumburg Business Development Commission as the Featured Business of the Month” in March for her great work.

Since 2004, Wada has amazed fans with the intricate details and the high quality of her chocolate creations. From an Asian-French fusion selection of chocolate to ornate and fully-edible stilettos and handbags in the Chocouture collection, patrons are guaranteed to find the perfect item for those with the most discerning tastes.

Wada is a graduate of L’Art de la Ptisserie (The Professional Pastry and Baking Program) at The French Pastry School. “To see our students succeed in this way is the most gratifying thing as a mentor,” said Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer, Dean of Student Affairs at The French Pastry School, Wada’s alma mater. “We are very proud to have talent such as [Rieko Wada] who has gone on to great success. Rieko also mentors our students and graduates taking them on as interns and employees.
