Coming to a theatre near you: Kings of Pastry





Kings of Pastry, the latest documentary film directed by D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus (The War Room, Don't Look Back) is coming soon to a theatre near you! Released in 2009, Kings of Pastry, starring Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer of The French Pastry School, has screened in several cities across Europe including Munich, Berlin, Bologna, Dumfries, as well as in England, the Netherlands, and Australia. In the Unites States it has been shown in Durham, North Carolina, Provincetown, Massachusetts, and Los Angeles, California. It will screen in New York City on September 15th as a part of the Film Forum, followed by the theatrical release nationwide.

Other comments about the film declare that Kings of Pastry is “gripping, even for non-foodies,” said Variety. “This is no Master Chef-style cook-off… The tension is almost unbearable,” wrote the Sydney Morning Herald. The Independent called “the last moments as thrilling as any Olympic final. Who would have thought that the fate of a sugar sculpture could be so heart-stopping? Exquisite.”
