Several businesses across the city participated in the 13th Annual Vaughan Business-to-Business Expo hosted by the Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre (VBEC). On February 11th, various business owners and representatives made their way to Terrace Banquet Centre for an afternoon all about “Transforming Social Relationships into Sales.” This year’s expo focused on teaching business owners how to build new relationships and leverage existing relationships with their target market to increase sales.

Gene Webb '13, owner of North Shore Boulangerie in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, continues his Food for Thought Series on February 8, 2015, with Chef Jonathan Dendauw as a guest chef. Joining him will be food fermentation expert Robert Hutkins of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Chicago, Illinois (January 8, 2015) – On December 19 at the Union League Club of Chicago, over seventy pastry and cake students assembled with their friends, families, and faculty and staff of The French Pastry School of Kennedy-King College at City Colleges of Chicago. It was graduation day for the two full-time professional certificate programs – L'Art de la Pâtisserie, the 24-week Baking and Pastry Program, and L’Art du Gâteau, the 16-week Cake Decorating and Baking Program. School sponsors along with chefs and professionals from the food industry were also in attendance.

2006 LAP Alum Amy Hansen and owner of Amy's Candy Bar just opened a pop-up shop in Hyde Park. The shop, which specializes in hand-crafted chocolates and nostalgic candy, will have its grand opening this weekend but they are already open for business and plan to stay in the neighborhood until May. Twenty-two pastry enthusiasts gathered at Alliance Paper & Foodservice Equipment on November 8, 2014, to submit their favorite recipes for chocolate brownies at Pastry Chicago's 4th Annual Amateur/Student Brownie Competition. Alliance, a Lombard-based business and a Chicagoland staple for the food service industry, was a great host, providing a special coupon and a vendor showcase just for guests and competitors to enjoy during the event.
