Annually, the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) presents the prestigious IACP Cookbook Awards in 18 categories. Authors, publishers, and other contributors behind creating cookbooks covet this gold standard of cookbook honors. For more than 25 years the IACP Cookbook Awards have been given to promote the best in writing and publishing and to highlight culinary literature. Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer has now joined the ranks of well-known honorees - such as Julia Child, Dorie Greenspan, and Thomas Keller - for his book The Art of French Pastry, winner in the Baking: Savory & Sweet category.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards are given to the best cookbooks and wine books of the year. This year, 187 countries participated in the competition founded by Edouard Cointreau in 1995. The Awards Ceremony and Banquet, often likened to the Oscars for the culinary world, will be held in Beijing, China. Chef Jacquy Pfeiffer’s book, The Art of French Pastry, won in the category of Best French Cuisine Book for the USA and is now qualified for the Gourmand Best in the World Competition in the same category. Winners of this competition will be announced at the Beijing Book Fair in May 2014.
